How do I see my current credit balance in Valid Email Checker?
Valid Email Checker shows your credit balance in three places, depending on what you are doing. The sidebar widget is the always-on view; the Credits History page gives you a running ledger; and the Buy Credits page surfaces the same totals when you are mid-purchase.
The sidebar credit pill (primary view)
On every dashboard page, the left sidebar carries an indigo pill near the top that reads something like "1,247 Credits" with a coin icon. That is your total balance — Monthly plus Pay-As-You-Go combined into a single number. The widget updates automatically as you verify, refund, or top up. No refresh needed in most cases.
Click the pill to expand a small popover showing the breakdown by bucket: Monthly credits on top, Pay-As-You-Go below, and the total in bold at the bottom. If your Monthly bucket is empty, that row is hidden and only the PAYG number shows. For a deeper read on the widget, see how to read the credit balance widget.
Credits History (the audit trail)
Navigate to /credits-history from the sidebar. The "Balance" column on every row shows your total balance immediately after that transaction. Reading top-to-bottom (newest first), the topmost row's balance is your current balance. This is useful when you want to confirm a specific deduction or refund landed correctly.
Buy Credits page
Open /buy-credits (see how to open Buy Credits). The page header shows your current total alongside the tier you are about to purchase, so you can sanity-check before committing. After a successful purchase, the total updates within a second.
If the number looks wrong
- Refresh the page once. The sidebar widget loads at mount; an old tab can show a stale number.
- Check if you are signed in as a team member — team members see the owner's shared pool, not their own credits.
- Compare against the topmost row in Credits History — the Balance column there is the ground truth.
- If they still disagree, the cache is stale; log out and back in and the pill will resync.
