What is auto-refill in Valid Email Checker and where do I enable it?
Auto-refill is the feature in Valid Email Checker that keeps your credit balance from ever hitting zero in the middle of a campaign. It watches your balance in the background, and the moment that balance drops to or below the threshold you picked, the system charges your saved card, adds the credits you chose, and drops them into your Pay-As-You-Go bucket. You do not have to click anything or stop what you are doing.
It is meant for users whose verification load is steady or unpredictable enough that running out of credits would interrupt real work — bulk uploads that are mid-flight, scheduled API jobs, integrations that fire on a webhook. Without auto-refill those jobs stall the moment the balance hits zero. With auto-refill, the top-up happens before you notice.
Where the toggle lives
Sign in to your dashboard at app.validemailchecker.com/overview. In the top-right corner, next to the credit balance widget, you will see a small switch labeled Auto-Refill. Clicking it is the entry point for everything: enable, disable, configure the threshold, change the timing mode, or set a monthly cap.
- Click the Auto-Refill toggle in the header.
- If you have a saved card already, the settings modal opens and you can configure the four fields (threshold, credits to add, timing, monthly limit).
- If you do not have a saved card, VEC prompts you to add one first — auto-refill needs a stored payment method to work.
- Click Save Settings in the modal and the green dot appears next to the toggle to confirm auto-refill is now live.
What the toggle shows you at a glance
The toggle itself is a status indicator as well as a control. A green dot means auto-refill is active and watching. A yellow warning icon means the last payment attempt failed and you should check your card. A blue info icon means you have hit your monthly limit and the system has paused itself until the 1st of next month. Gray (off) is the resting state for accounts that never enabled the feature.
Who can configure it
Only the account owner can enable or change auto-refill settings. If you are signed in as a team member, the toggle does not even appear in your header — auto-refill always charges the owner card, not a team member card, so we hide the control on team-member sessions to avoid confusion.
