Where do I see my current subscription status?

Last updated May 19, 2026Subscriptions & billing

Subscription state in Valid Email Checker is summarised by a single status badge that appears on the Subscription sub-tab. Knowing where it lives saves you guessing whether you are renewing, in a grace window, or already cancelled. The same status drives banners, email triggers, and which buttons appear on the page.

Finding the badge

  1. Open Account Settings from the sidebar (or click your avatar and pick it from the dropdown).
  2. Click the Billing & Payments tab.
  3. Stay on the Subscription sub-tab (it loads by default if you have an active or recently-cancelled plan).
  4. Look at the top card: plan name on the left, coloured status badge on the right.

What sits beside the badge

Right beneath the plan name and status you'll see your next billing date, your current monthly credit balance, and an optional yellow banner if a downgrade is scheduled for the next renewal. A red banner appears across the top of the card whenever the status is Past Due, with a button that takes you straight to the unpaid invoice.

If you do not have an active subscription at all, the Subscription sub-tab tells you so with a short call-to-action that links to Buy Credits → Monthly Plans. The PAYG side of your account (and the credit balance widget in the sidebar) is unaffected by missing-subscription state — they sit independently.

Status outside the app
The status badge is the source of truth for in-app display, but the same data flows into your invoice emails and any webhook events you've subscribed to. If you ever need a clean machine-readable version of your subscription state, the GET endpoint on the Developer API returns it.
