How do I select a specific ActiveCampaign list to verify?

Once you connect ActiveCampaign through the ActiveCampaign integration, the next step is choosing what to verify. Valid Email Checker fetches every contact list your API key can read and presents them in a searchable picker. You pick one list per verification run, kick it off, and we import the contacts behind the scenes.

Opening the list picker

1. In the dashboard sidebar, open Integrations and find the ActiveCampaign connection card.
2. Click the row menu and choose Sync Now, or pick the connection from the Bulk Upload screen.
3. A modal slides in showing the ActiveCampaign logo, the connection name you assigned, and a search box above the list of lists.
4. Use the search field to filter by list name if the account has dozens of lists.
5. Select one list with the radio button. The subscriber count for that list is shown on the right.

What you can verify

• Individual contact lists — every list created in ActiveCampaign appears, regardless of whether it is public or hidden.
• All contacts — a meta-list that covers the full contact database, useful for a one-off full-account cleanup.

Tags are not selectable as a separate list type here. If you want to verify a tag-defined group, use ActiveCampaign automations or segments to copy those contacts into a dedicated list first.

Sizing the credit cost before you commit

The list picker displays the subscriber count next to each list. The Import button at the bottom updates the credits-needed estimate in real time so you can compare it against your available balance. If a list has 12,400 subscribers, the verification will cost up to 12,400 credits — less, after duplicate removal (which is on by default).

Refreshing list data

Lists sync automatically the moment you connect. If you have just added a new list in ActiveCampaign or changed membership counts, click the circular refresh icon at the top of the list picker. VEC re-queries the ActiveCampaign API and updates the picker without closing the modal.

After picking a list

Below the list picker, you choose between Verify Only and Clean List Automatically. Verify Only is the default and leaves ActiveCampaign untouched. Clean List Automatically applies the action options Valid Email Checker offers for ActiveCampaign — see the action-options guide for the full breakdown.

Once the import starts, you are redirected to the Uploads & Results page where progress is shown in real time. You can close the tab without losing the job — verification runs server-side.

Common selection issues

• List missing from the picker — the ActiveCampaign API hides lists if your token does not have read access. Regenerate the key in ActiveCampaign with full admin scope.
• Subscriber count looks wrong — ActiveCampaign reports counts at the list level, including unsubscribed and bounced contacts. The actual verification billing covers only addresses we send to the engine.
• Empty picker on a new account — make sure the ActiveCampaign account actually has lists created. Brand new accounts have no lists by default.
