How do I select a specific Constant Contact list to verify?

Last updated May 20, 2026Integrations

Constant Contact organizes contacts into lists and tagged groups. Valid Email Checker reads both shapes through the Constant Contact API and surfaces them in a single searchable picker. Connection credentials and token rotation live in the Constant Contact integration guide.

Opening the list picker

  1. Open Integrations in the VEC sidebar.
  2. Find the Constant Contact row in Connected Integrations.
  3. Click the three-dot menu and choose Sync Now (or open the same modal from Bulk Upload).
  4. A modal appears showing the Constant Contact logo and the list picker.
  5. Pick one list with the radio button.

What appears in the picker

  • Contact lists — every manually curated list visible to your token.
  • Tagged groups — subscribers grouped by Constant Contact tags, treated as selectable lists.
  • Subscriber counts — pulled live from Constant Contact so you can size the verification cost.
  • Search field — filters the picker by name in real time.

Constant Contact segments (filter-defined dynamic groups) are not exposed as a separate list type here. If you want to verify a segment, materialize it into a list first using the Constant Contact dashboard.

Sizing the cost before you commit

The credits-needed line at the bottom of the modal uses the Constant Contact subscriber count. Duplicate removal (on by default) cuts the actual spend further. Unknown-status results are automatically credit-refunded, so even a verify-only run on a noisy list often ends up costing less than the displayed estimate.

Smaller lists for monthly hygiene
For a monthly cadence on a large Constant Contact account, build a list scoped to recent signups (last 30 days) and verify that. Re-checking long-stable subscribers every month is wasteful. Pair this with the action defaults in the action-options FAQ.

Refreshing list data

Click the circular refresh icon at the top right of the modal. VEC re-queries the Constant Contact API and updates subscriber counts in place. Use this after creating new lists or after a fresh import that just landed in Constant Contact.

After picking the list

Below the picker, choose Verify Only (default — Constant Contact untouched) or Clean List Automatically. Hit Import List, and you are redirected to Uploads & Results where progress updates in real time. The verification keeps running even if you close the tab — the work happens server-side on Valid Email Checker's infrastructure.

Troubleshooting selection

  • List does not appear — the API token may not have the right scopes. Constant Contact tokens occasionally expire and need refreshing through OAuth.
  • Subscriber count looks off — Constant Contact counts include unsubscribed contacts in some API responses. The Import button still works; the credits estimate is a strict upper bound.
  • Empty picker — the connected Constant Contact account has no contact lists yet, or the token lacks read permissions.
