How do I select a specific Campaign Monitor list to verify?
Campaign Monitor has an unusual two-tier model: one Campaign Monitor account can host multiple clients, and each client has its own subscriber lists. Valid Email Checker handles both shapes — solo accounts and agency setups with several clients. Connection details live in the Campaign Monitor integration guide.
Opening the list picker
- Open Integrations in the VEC sidebar.
- Find your Campaign Monitor connection row.
- Click the three-dot row menu and pick Sync Now.
- A modal opens with the Campaign Monitor logo and the list picker.
- Pick one list with the radio buttons.
Multi-client agency setups
If your Campaign Monitor API key gives access to multiple clients (typical for agencies managing several brands), the picker shows every list across every client your key can read. Each list row is prefixed or grouped by client name so you can tell them apart at a glance. Pick a list under the right client; VEC scopes the verification accordingly.
What you see in the picker
- Subscriber list name — exactly as it appears in Campaign Monitor.
- Subscriber count — the active subscriber total according to the Campaign Monitor API.
- Search field — filters by name in real time.
Tags inside Campaign Monitor are not selectable as a separate list type. If you want to verify a tagged subset, build a Campaign Monitor segment using that tag and copy it to a static list first.
Sizing the verification
Once you pick a list, the credits-needed line at the bottom of the modal updates in real time. It uses the Campaign Monitor subscriber count directly. Duplicate removal (toggled on by default) lowers the actual spend further. If your VEC balance is below the estimate, the Import button is disabled until you top up.
Refreshing list data
Click the refresh icon at the top of the modal to re-query the Campaign Monitor API. Use this after creating new lists or after large imports. New Campaign Monitor clients added to your account also show up after a refresh.
After picking the list
Choose between Verify Only and Clean List Automatically below the picker. Verify Only leaves Campaign Monitor data alone. Clean List Automatically applies the per-category actions described in the action-options FAQ. Hit Import List to start.
Troubleshooting selection
- Some clients missing — your API key may not have read access on every client. Regenerate the key in Campaign Monitor with full scope.
- Empty picker — the Campaign Monitor account does not have any subscriber lists yet. Create one in Campaign Monitor first.
- Stale subscriber counts — Campaign Monitor caches counts briefly. The refresh icon forces a re-fetch.
